President Ostbye called the meeting to order at 7:00PM and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Peltier moved to accept the agenda as presented, Wheeler seconded the motion and the Board passed it. Uglem then moved to accept the minutes as prepared (including the spelling error), Tollefson seconded the motion and the Board subsequently passed it. The financial report as prepared by Valentine was presented by President Ostbye. Tollefson and Hart, moved and seconded to accept the financial report. The Board passed the motion.
The Lake Coordinator reported that there were no major new issues. Lake monitoring continues with no alarming increase in the presence of E coli following storm activity. There is still money available to owners for shoreline restoration. Tollefson moved to increase the maximum individual grant to $5000 for 2010-2011. Peltier seconded the motion and the Board passed it. The rules require that a 25 foot buffer must be kept for a minimum of 10 years, must restore 75 % of the owners frontage and must consist of all native plants. She also presented a brief update on the zebra mussel situation and the interns inspecting boats at the public access. New regulations will be prepared for service providers for dock and lift removal and installation.
The Annual Meeting Agenda was reviewed. The board determined that the candidate introductions should be before voting closes and agreed that the proposed agenda should include a change --- opening of the polls at 8:30AM and closing of the polls after the Nominee introductions.
Tollefson reported that a very small area of Little Pelican was treated for curly leaf pondweed on May 19, 2010. A small area in the channel will require treatment in 2011.
The meeting adjourned at 8:35 PM and the Mosquito Abatement Meeting commenced. Mosquito spraying begins on May 27, 2010 on Thursday nights and will continue through the summer on Thursday nights if weather permits. If not it will be completed on the first appropriate following day. For the week of the fourth of July, the spraying will be moved to Friday night for maximum effect over the holiday weekend..
The PGOLID Board meeting was resumed at 8:38 PM and immediately adjourned by President Ostbye.
